FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Fidelium London is a lay-led network of Anglo-Catholic young adults aged 18–35 in London, under the patronage of the Bishop of Fulham. It brings together young adults for theological formation, prayer, and community, rooted in the sacramental and spiritual life of the Church.
Fidelium is part of the Church of England. We are Anglicans who stand in the Catholic tradition of the Church of England, drawing on its sacramental, liturgical, and spiritual life, while remaining fully within the Anglican Communion.
No. Fidelium is not a church, and it is not a substitute for parish life. We encourage people to remain rooted in their own parish. Fidelium exists to support and deepen that life, not to replace it.
No. You are very welcome regardless of church background or affiliation. Fidelium has a clear traditionalist Anglo-Catholic ethos, but people coming from a wide range of denominations and backgrounds attend our events, including those who are simply exploring faith. Some parishes are affiliated with Fidelium through our parish rep network (see our map of parishes and list of reps). However, those who attend our events come from many different parishes across London and beyond.
No. You are welcome whether you are practising, returning to faith, or simply curious. If you would like to explore attending church for the first time, do have a look at our map of parishes, and feel free to contact us so that we can put you in touch with a parish rep near you. They would be delighted to welcome you and be a first point of contact.
Fidelium is intended for young adults aged 18–35. You must be 18 or over to attend Fidelium events. We do not check ages, and those slightly above the range are welcome to use their discretion, but Fidelium is designed as a young adult ministry.
No. Fidelium is based in London, but you are welcome to attend events whenever you are able, whether you live locally or are visiting. Some events are available online from time to time, which anyone is welcome to join.
Fidelium runs a range of events, including talks, Bible study, prayer (such as the Rosary), and social gatherings. We also share details of significant events in the life of parishes affiliated with us. You can find full details of upcoming events on the events page of our website.
No. Most events are open without needing to sign up, and you are very welcome simply to turn up. Some events — such as day trips and pilgrimages — require sign-up for practical reasons, but this will be clearly indicated where necessary.
You will be welcomed! Many people come for the first time not knowing anyone. Members of the committee and parish reps are always present and will be very glad to welcome you and help you get to know others.
You can follow Fidelium on social media (Instagram and X) and join our WhatsApp community to hear about upcoming events and opportunities to get involved.
We are always glad to hear from those who would like to support Fidelium’s work! Fidelium is a lay-led network, and parish reps are appointed by the committee rather than by clergy. They are typically drawn from those who are already actively involved in Fidelium’s life. If you would like to get involved, we encourage you to come along to an event and introduce yourself — we would be very glad to meet you.
We are actively considering how Fidelium might grow beyond London, particularly in Society parishes across England. We are also glad to be in touch with those seeking to build young adult communities — whether in traditionalist Anglo-Catholic contexts or more widely — and are happy to share our experience where helpful. We have supported both clergy and laity in establishing young adult ministries in a range of contexts. Please get in touch via our contact form, and we will forward your message to the appropriate person.
